Hi, my name is Becky and I am the Director of Cairns Early Learning.  I have been in the industry since 2002 and have had many different experiences that have helped prepare me for taking on the role as Director. I am excited to be able to support a service that has so many wonderful qualities for children, family and educators to enjoy coming to everyday.  I am a mum to two wonderful children, and value the importance of quality education and care in the early years, developing your child’s confidence to explore and engage with their community and to build resilience and a sense of belonging.

I have had many roles over the past 30 years in the Early Education Sector.

I have now become a part of the amazing team here at Cairns Early Learning where I have been employed as Assistant Director since April 2023.

Hi I’m Shanice, I have worked in Early Education for 13 years and been working at Cairns Early Learning since 2012. This year I am the Lead Educator in the Mudskipper class. I currently hold my diploma and have studied most of my Bachelor of Education (ECE), which I hope to get back to in the near future and finish. I am born and bred in Cairns and have a 7 year old son, we love the outdoors and spend our weekends chasing waterfalls, hiking, eating food, gardening, camping, cycling and have recently added motorbike riding to my hobbies.

I am value building stronger relationships with families and children being a part of their growth each year.

My name is Brooke and i have worked in the childcare industry since 1997, and obtained my Diploma a number of years ago. I believe that early education is important and we have such a fortunate role helping little minds and bodies grow.

I have been with Cairns Early Learning since late 2022 and love the family-oriented environment, nurturing and fun co-workers, quality resources and supportive management. I am passionate about birds, books and camping.

Hi, I’m Miyuki and I have been an Early Childhood Educator since 2015. I am Diploma qualified and proud to be a part of the Cairns Early Learning team since 2018, this year I am the Lead Educator in the Glowworms. I love working with children and watching them grow, seeing their personalities develop as they are all different and unique.  My goal is to help the children feel secure by providing a calm, loving nurturing environment where they can grow and thrive in their early year’s development and learning.

My name is Melanie and I am the Early Childhood Teacher in the Starfish class at Cairns Early Learning. I have worked at the centre since 2015 and it is like my second home. I have my Bachelor of Learning Management from CQU as well as having worked in the industry for about 23 years.

I am a wife and a mum to two amazing children; in my spare time I love to spend time with family and also I love to read.

I am passionate about teaching and helping young Children to learn, grow and become successful in all aspects of their life. I find my role as an ECT very rewarding and couldn’t see myself doing anything else.

My name is Ka and I am originally from Hong Kong.

In November 2021 I joined CEL, I am currently studying Diploma of Early Childhood Education and am the Lead Educator in the Geckos Class. I love children, not only seeing them grow up but also educating them through play-based learning. My children have enlightened me in my love and passion for working with young children, I love to see them grow confidently within themselves and their abilities in all developmental stages.
